Hello Again!
Hi there! If you ever check out this website or if you’ve at some stage clicked the button to receive emails if I post, then you might have noticed that I haven’t shared anything here in over a year. I used to post regularly and I had a couple of mishaps with the site and lost a lot of posts as well as my original website with a slightly different address. I won’t lie, it felt like an uphill battle to get all of the posts back and I kind of lost interest. I almost let the website go completely, but I was talked out of it! On top of…

ORC – Nursery: Week 5 – Furniture
This week’s post will be short and sweet, as I’m sharing the furniture we’ve chosen for the nursery. This sofa bed, from The Range, was actually already in our attic room so we moved it down here. We bought an IKEA day bed for the attic, as a more permanent spare bed for visitors to sleep in, because we got rid of our spare bed when we changed this room from a guest bedroom to a nursery. You can find a link to our sofa bed here! I’m not sure it will ever be used as a bed, but I’m hoping it’ll work as a place to feed baby and…

ORC – Nursery: Week 4 – Rainbow Wall
Last week I promised I wasn’t finished with my paint brushes and I’m not here to disappoint. This week, I decided before putting all of the painting equipment away, I was going to do a feature wall on 1 of the plain off-white walls. I decided on a neutral, mostly pastel coloured rainbow on the wall behind the chest of drawers/changing table. It took a lot more planning than I thought to get the measurements for where to start the curve and how wide and high each colour needed to be. Thankfully Dave was around for that part because if you know me, you know maths is really not my…

ORC – Nursery: Week 3 – Paint Colours
Looking at the amazing work people are carrying out for the One Room Challenge makes me wonder if some panelling, painting & decorating a room is enough to call this an 8 week challenge. I have to keep reminding myself I’m 25 weeks pregnant and even thought it’s just some redecorating, it will look like a totally new room by the end of the project. This week, with a lot of help from my mam & her overalls, we got the final coat of paint on the panelling and chose and painted the rest of the walls. The colour we used on the panelling is Dulux Tranquil Dawn. I knew…

ORC – Nursery: Week 2 – DIY Panelling
For the first project of my One Room Challenge, I decided to tackle some simple board and batten panelling on one wall of the room. Last November, my dad and I took on a project of turning some simple Ikea shelves into built-in units for our living room. We used all of my dad’s tools and I really loved working on it. I caught the DIY bug, so my husband bought me a sliding mitre saw for Christmas. I broke it out for the first time for this project. Anyone that knows me knows I’m horrifically bad at maths, so my biggest concern was working out the measurements for…

One Room Challenge – Nursery: Week 1
I’m taking part, as a guest, in my first ever One Room Challenge this spring. Changing our guest bedroom into a nursery for our baby, due August 2023, fell just at the right time for the spring run of the challenge. My mood board above includes a mix of green, wood, white and grey with some greenery included. Over the next 8 weeks, I plan to transform this room by creating some board and batten panelling, painting, adding some new furniture, creating a feature wall, doing some up-cycling and adding final touches with decor. unfortunately, I had already started to clear the room before I decided to do this project…
